The FICA Patrons Programme 2021 - 2022 launched the sixth edition of the programme, retaining its virtual version for the year, continuing however to bring us new and rejuvenated ways of thinking and engaging with art. With an extremely challenging year, we were grateful to our Patrons for their unstinting support that meant FICA in turn could extend support to the artist community at a time when opportunities and platforms were scarce.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the FICA Patrons 2021-22:

We were also happy to host James Green and Cristina Vere Nicoll of David Zwirner, who led us, virtually, through three major Yayoi Kusama exhibitions which underline her importance and standing as a global phenomenon. Starting in New York with Kusama's acclaimed project at the Botanical Gardens, before moving to the retrospective at Gropius Bau, Berlin, the walkthrough also looked at the acclaimed Infinity Mirror Rooms exhibition at Tate Modern, London.

We launched our Patrons Programme 2021-22 with a special presentation and discussion forum with Prof Kavita Singh, a widely respected authority on miniature painting. The two presentations focused on paintings and associated arts that Jahangir patronized, before and after he ascended the Mughal throne.

Additionally, as part of the FICA Patrons Programme 2021, we began a intimate series of visits to prestigious private art collections in India, titled At Home. We were honoured to be able to begin this programme with a visit to Anupam and Lekha Poddar’s personal collection of art that has been a source of inspiration for many an art organisation and art collector over the years. Following this, our patrons gathered at Roshni Nadar’s home for the second visit as part of our At Home series.
