I Love Indian Art - Part 2

The art course your kid would love!

September - October, 2012
at the FICA Reading Room, D-42, Defence Colony, New Delhi 110024

Age group: 7 - 11 years.

Following 'I Love Indian Art - Part 1' conducted earlier this year we now bring a new series for the young art lovers of Delhi. 'I Love Indian Art' is a magical journey about discovering art for children. It is a fun and fully interactive programme that gives your child newfound confidence to talk about their artistic heritage, and builds core historical and cultural knowledge, and just lets them have a blast with colors and more!

Through the course we will uncover some highlights of Indian modern art, find out about the lives of incredible artists and the ideas that have inspired them. We will reflect on different aspects of art history and create our own art work using a various innovative techniques. We will also learn the vocabulary of art appreciation, as we express and share our ideas with everyone in the group.

I Love Indian Art - Part 2 comprises two seperate courses designed as a complete series. Please note that you have to complete Module 1 to register for Module 2.

      1. Module 1:  Themes in Modern and Ancient Art (Sessions 1-6)
                           Dates: 3, 6, 10, 13, 17 & 20 September, 2012
                           (Mondays and Thursdays)
                           Time: 4:30 - 6:00 pm
      2. Module 2:  Indian and Western Modern Art (Sessions 7-12)
                           Dates: 24 & 27 September - 1, 4, 8, 11 October, 2012
                           (Mondays and Thursdays)
                           Time: 4:30 - 6:00 pm

Each session follows a clearly structured format and utilises international pedagological techniques. This includes teaching inputs around the artist/theme, power-point presentation of art works with open discussions. This is followed by a creative activity where the children make their own work inspired by the artist they have been learning about, using carefully chosen techniques to ensure a fun experience and inspiring outcome. Children can take home the art work they have created at the end of each session. Each Module finishes with a guided and activity-based visit to an art gallery.

We will provide all art material including a small (A4) course work-book. However if children would like to bring their own sketchbook and pencils they are welcome to do so!
A small snack of juice and cookies will be provided at the end of each session.
