FICA is delighted to support CONA for a four-day workshop by Aveek Sen starting from the 1st of July till the 4th of July 2014.
This workshop, "What We Talk About When We Talk About Art: Conversations around looking, making and thinking", will be a series of discussions around the making and reception of art, and the relationship between these processes and the structures of experience. The discussions will be both free-wheeling and rigorous, and as free from technical jargon as possible. They will be structured around specific works of literature, cinema and music, for which no prior technical knowledge of any of these media is required.
Those who are interested in applying for the course should send their CV, a short account (150 words) about their area of practice, why would they would like to enroll for this course (like a personal statement), and one unit of anything they want to attach as representing a body of work. This can be anything from a portfolio of images, a video, installation shots of work, or a piece of writing.
All the e-material should be sent to conaprojects@gmail.com before the 20th of June 2014.
Aveek Sen studied English literature at Jadavpur University, Calcutta, and University College, Oxford.
