Project_Space @ FICA Reading Room

An incubation space for projects to enliven and augment acts of reading, both as method and practice.

A room located within the FICA Reading Room, Project_Space reaches out to practitioners, collectives, archives, publications, and organisations involved in processes of ‘reading’ - to inhabit and expand its boundaries.

Viewing these projects as in-flux, Project_Space provides a space for activation, through the realisation of research, displays, critical thinking, and community engagement.

Project_Space is host to a series of projects and events emerging from the engagements of different ‘residents’. We take ‘reading’ as active > passive, and envision P_S as a space for intervention, ideation and inversion - a lab, a studio, a workshop, an observatory - that expands temporally, forming a vital connection between how spaces manifest, and notions of reading and readability.
