Arun Vadehra | Director, Vadehra Art Gallery
Arun Vadehra founded Vadehra Art Gallery in New Delhi, in 1987. A graduate in Mathematics from St. Stephen’s College in New Delhi, Vadehra started his professional career in the construction business. He established the Gallery at a time when modern Indian art was still considered exotic and its access was limited to a privileged few. The gallery was born out of a vision to build an institution dedicated to Indian art, and the need for a professional platform to connect artists with art lovers. Vadehra Art Gallery stands today as one of the oldest and well respected art galleries in India, while representing a roster of artists that spans over four generations.
Radhika Chopra | Art Collector and Entrepreneur
Radhika Chopra is an art lover and founder of luxury tea brand No. 3 Clive Road based in New Delhi. She is a patron of the Kochi-Muziris Biennale and an Arts Advisory Council Member of Harvard University’s Mittal South Asia Institute. She supported My East is Your West at The Venice Biennale 2015, and Word. Sound. Power, a collaboration between Tate Modern and Khoj International Artists’ Association.
Shilpa Gupta | Artist
Shilpa Gupta lives and works in Mumbai, where she has studied sculpture at the Sir J. J. School of Fine Arts from 1992 to 1997. She had solo shows at Contemporary Arts Center in Cincinnati, Arnolfini in Bristol, OK in Linz, Museum voor Moderne Kunst in Arnhem, Voorlinden Museum and Gardens in Wassenaar, Kiosk in Ghent, Bielefelder Kunstverein, La synagogue de Delme Contemporary Art Center and Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. Her work is in the collections of Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, Centre Georges Pompidou, Mori Museum, Louisiana Museum, Deutsche Bank, Bristol Art Museum, and many more international museums.
Tarana Sawhney | Advocate, Art Collector, Philanthropist
Tarana Sawhney is Chairperson, CII task force on Art and Culture, and a founding member of the NGO Khushii. She has led the fund-raising processes for the charities that she is associated with. Tarana is also a Member of the South Asian Acquisitions Committee of the Tate Modern, and has been instrumental in recent collections of art from the region, which has formed a part of the Tate’s permanent collection. With her husband Tarun, they have built one of the most spectacular collections in the region.
Sunita Choraria | Art Collector
Sunita Choraria is one of the leading art collectors in India. She thrives on connecting international institutions to the Indian art scene. She support several other art projects and spaces such as the Mumbai Art Room, a non-profit space for experimental art, the Kochi-Muziris Biennale, as well as residencies and artist exchanges organised by What About Art?
